Governor Patrick Morrisey announced a $650,000 allocation to finish paving Washington Pike, also designated West Virginia Route 27, during a meeting of the Brooke County Commission.

The work is expected to cover 2.6 miles from the Pennsylvania state line to near the intersection with West Virginia Route 88. The planned project includes a 1.5-inch overlay and shoulder stone, completing a stretch that had previously been addressed in phases.

The money has been set aside from the state's General Road Fund and other legislative funding. At the time of the announcement, no construction timeline had been established and no contract had been awarded.
