Governor Patrick Morrisey joined Dominion Energy to announce plans for a major natural-gas power plant at Mount Storm.
The proposed 2.6-gigawatt facility would create more than 1,400 construction jobs and 150 permanent positions. The project is also projected to generate more than $259 million in regional economic activity during construction.
Over its first 36 years of operation, the plant is estimated to produce nearly $950 million in Grant County tax revenue while moving West Virginia closer to Morrisey's 50 by 50 energy goal.
