Governor Patrick Morrisey welcomed reports that high-performance computing provider Nscale reached a $45 billion, six-year agreement with Anthropic tied to its West Virginia data center campus.
According to the report, the agreement covers roughly 460 megawatts of computing capacity and would use NVIDIA's next-generation Vera Rubin technology. The project connects West Virginia's energy resources with growing demand for artificial-intelligence infrastructure.
The agreement remains reported rather than presented as a completed state outcome. Morrisey said it reflected growing confidence in West Virginia's strategy of creating regulatory certainty for large-scale technology investment.
