Governor Patrick Morrisey announced a $2.34 million funding opportunity to expand non-emergency medical transportation across West Virginia.
Offered through the Rural Health Link initiative, the funding can support additional vehicles, drivers, operating hours, dispatch capacity, and service coverage in underserved communities. It is intended to expand transportation rather than replace existing vehicles or maintain current service levels.
The program targets a basic barrier to rural healthcare: patients who cannot reach appointments because of long distances, limited transportation options, or local workforce shortages.
